Railroad closure begins on Monday, just south of Helmer between County Road 772 West and State Road 4. The road will be completely CLOSED at the tracks while the railroad rebuilds it. The railroad closure is expected to last a week.
Also on Monday, contractors will CLOSE the road between US 20 and State Road 4 to begin the full-depth reclamation. Contractors plan to begin at the North end of the project area (closest to US 20). The closure will be in place thorough mid-November (tentatively).
During the work, the road will be closed to through traffic, but LOCAL traffic will be allowed (meaning people who live or work on the road). If possible, please alter your route so our contractors can work safely.
The official state detour is US 20 to State Road 3 to US 6. Other local detours may be available.
