Bronson Man Sentenced In Sexual Assault Case
Wednesday, July 17, 2019

A Bronson man has been sentenced to one year in prison for sexually assaulting a 13 year old girl. According to Branch County Circuit Court officials, 27 year old Richard Terlizzi was given that sentence Monday. In June, he plead no contest to second degree child abuse during a pre-trial conference.

Michigan State Police arrested Terlizzi in December 2018 on a charge of third degree criminal sexual conduct, following their investigation. In August of 2018, troopers were contacted by a woman who said her 13 year old daughter had been assaulted by Terlizzi in their Girard Township home.

According to troopers, Terlizzi and a girlfriend of the victim's mother were living at the house after suffering some financial problems.

Troopers determined that other people were sleeping in the home when the alleged incident happened. Court officials say Terlizzi will be given credit for the 260 days he has served. He will be on probation for five years.
