On Sunday Night, just after 10:30 pm Steuben County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the area of State Route 120 and County Road 25 East in rural Fremont Township on a report of a personal injury vehicle accident.
Preliminary crash investigation indicated that a 2001 Chevy Malibu driven by 64 year old Terri White of Fremont, IN was traveling westbound on State Route 120 when her vehicle struck the back of a westbound Tao brand moped driven by 28 year old Emylee Fox of Hohenwald, TN. Further crash investigation indicated that Fox's vehicle did not have an operating tail light or head light.
Fox was flown from the scene to a Fort Wayne, IN area hospital by the Samaritan helicopter due to possible head and neck injuries. Fox was not wearing a helmet and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Steuben County Sheriff's Office. Assisting the Sheriff's Office at the scene were the Fremont Fire Department and Steuben County EMS.
