Defiance Man Involved In Police Pursuit Gets 10 Years
Wednesday, August 21, 2019

The Defiance man who led police in a pursuit back in November decided to waive his right to a jury trial in Defiance County and was sentenced to prison.

It was ruled that Cameron Butler will get a 10-year prison term for assault and more from the incident in which prosecutors say he intentionally struck a city police cruiser outside the police department on Perry Street.

Butler then left the scene, failed to stop when ordered by officers and led them on a pursuit in Defiance. Several police cruisers and privately owned cars were damaged in the chase.
