Northwest Ohio Sees Minor Rise In Unemployment

Unemployment rates saw a slight rise in the month of July across the Buckeye State

All across the state of Ohio, unemployment rates saw a slight increased as it ticked up to 4.6 percent, from 4.2 in June. This occurring while the national rate went up to 4 percent, up from 3.8 percent in the previous month.

In Williams County specifically, unemployment stands at 3.6 percent, up from 3.3 percent in June. However, Williams County's rate remains one of the lowest in the state and is the jobs leader in the northwest region.

Meanwhile in Defiance County, July saw a rate of 4.7 percent, up from 4.3 in June. And finally, Henry County’s saw a rate of 4.6 percent, up from 4.2 in the month of June.

Even with the slight uptick in unemployment, job numbers are considered very good all across the area.
