High Speed Motorcycle Pursuit Ends With One Seriously Injured

A high speed pursuit of a motorcycle ended in serious injury after the driver was ejected.

Officers attempted to stop a 1998 Honda Motorcycle operated by John D. Muzzillo, age 27, of Butler, Indiana on US highway 6 and I-69 at approximately 11 A.M. Tuesday morning. Muzzillo failed to stop and fled from Dekalb County Sheriff Ben Browand. Muzzillo drove east bound on US highway 6 from I-69 and then turned north onto CR
24 from US highway 6 when he went off the roadway and struck a mailbox in the 3400 block of CR 24. Muzzillo was ejected from the motorcycle and was not wearing a helmet. Samaritan helicopter flew Muzzillo to Parkview Regional Medical Center where he was treated for head trauma. The Incident remains under investigation and charges are still pending.

Assisting the DeKalb County Sherriff was the Waterloo Fire Department and DeKalb EMS.
