Ohio Governor Pushing For More Thorough Background Checks On Gun Purchasers
Friday, August 30, 2019

Ohio Republican Governor, Mike DeWine says that Ohio should start requiring the entry of certain protection orders and arrest warrants for top-tier, violent crimes into background check systems that help notify law enforcement and gun sellers about the potential dangers of those people.

As stated on Wednesday by DeWine, he feels too much information is missing from those state and federal systems, and that is a safety issue for many.

DeWine says Ohio is working on creating a simple, state-funded system for police and courts to add information about warrants and protection orders to the background check systems, something he wishes will become mandatory in the near future.
