Tuesday, September 3, 2019

The West Noble Community is celebrating the life of a fallen high school teacher and coach. This past weekend, they gathered at the West Noble High School track for a memorial for Charles Schlemmer.

Schlemmer, age 58, coached cross-country and track at West Noble High School, including 20 years as the head coach for the girls cross country and boys track and field programs. Schlemmer was also a Social Studies teacher at West Noble High School.

Schlemmer died on back on August 21st, following a tragic accident as he was riding his bike and was then reported to being hit by a drunk driver.

Many members of the community gathered in a packed football stadium Saturday to share memories of him at a memorial service. A GoFundMe has been set up for Schlemmer’s family to help with funeral and other expenses.
