Joint Investigation Results in the Arrest of a Fort Wayne Police Officer
Friday, September 20, 2019

A joint investigation conducted by detectives from the Indiana State Police and the Allen County Police Department has resulted in criminal charges being filed by the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office against Fort Wayne Police Officer Andrew Beck.

This joint investigation began back in April of this year after a report was made to a Wayne High School Resource Officer, alleging that Officer Beck had been engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a student. At that time, Beck was also working at Wayne High School as a part-time School Resource Officer. The investigation that followed this initial allegation, did in fact reveal that Beck was engaging in inappropriate conduct of a sexual nature via social media account activity with a 16 year old female Wayne High School student.

The completed investigation was turned over to the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office for review and determination of charges to be filed in this matter. Subsequent to that review, an arrest warrant was issued for Andrew Beck on charges of Child Seduction, Providing obscene matter and performances before minors, and Possession of child pornography.

Officer Beck is currently out of state on military orders, but with the assistance of the US Marshals Service, Beck was taken into custody earlier this evening and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, California where he will be held until being extradited back to Indiana.

As this case involves a juvenile victim, the victim identification will be withheld from release.
