Much of Eastern Branch County In The Dark From Power Outage

Reports came in mass to power officials in Branch County, Michigan as over 3,400 customers east of Coldwater to almost the Hillsdale County line are without power this morning.

Thursday night's high winds is believed to be the reason for the outages which followed yet another day of persistent rain and light snow across the area.

The power outage has caused Quincy Community Schools to be closed for Friday, November 1st.

The highest recorded wind gust on Thursday at the Branch County Memorial Airport was 29 miles an hour. Officials from Consumer’s Energy report on their website that power is estimated to be restored later this morning.
