Monday, November 11, 2019

Butternut Ridge Beef has chosen downtown Coldwater as a destination to expand their business at 69 W. Chicago St in the Kerr Building. The third generation family-operated farm produces and sells USDA certified beef, humanely raised, and free-range. They pride their farm practices on never giving steroids, growth hormones, or antibiotics to their beef.  The business will be occupying the space from November 15th through May 15th. During the summer Butternut Ridge Beef sells at the Coldwater Corner Farmers’ Market and at Hoff’s Family Vegetable Farm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Butternut Ridge Beef is family-operated farm with descendants dating back to the mid-1800’s in Girard Township, north of Coldwater. The business was started in 1964 by Dale AcMoody. Phil joined his father in 1972 after graduating from Michigan State University, and his son Sam came into the business in 2017.

Butternut Ridge Beef products are regularly featured at Broadway Grille and at Bills Grill House at the Coldwater Golf Course. There store hours will be Friday from 2-6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
