Ohio Woman's Plea Hearing Scheduled In Taking of Girl Scout Money

The court date of a Bryan, Ohio woman accused of taking money from four local bank accounts belonging to the Girls Scouts of America has been scheduled. 36-year-old Kathy Jo Contreras is to appear in Branch County Circuit Court on January 27th, 2020 to formally enter into a plea agreement with the Branch County Prosecutor's Office as a total of 33 charges were initially against her in the case.

According to court documents, Contreras is accused of withdrawing a total of $1,280 from the accounts on 11 occasions without authorization. Michigan State Police investigating the case believe her alleged wrong doing started in May and a warrant for her arrest was issued back on October 17, 2019.

Contreras is free on a $25,000 personal recognizance bond and she is free to live in Ohio during the legal proceedings. Conditions of the plea were not made public.
