As the filings continue for various political offices continue, Leta Hullinger formally announced on Tuesday her bid to seek the Republican nomination for recorder of DeKalb County, a position that is currently held by two-term recorder Katie Firestone, who cannot run for reelection due to term limits on the position.

Hullinger is a DeKalb County native, graduating from DeKalb High School and presently resides on the north side of Garrett.

She is also on the board of directors of Alliance Industries in Garrett.
