Miller Supports Adding Money To Coronavirus Response
Monday, March 23, 2020

State Representative Aaron Miller has voted in favor of a new emergency budget plan.

The Sturgis Republican voted in favor of a measure to add an additional $125 million to help the State of Michigan and local communities respond to the coronavirus.

The measure brings the total State fund approved to $150 million, including the $25 million approved by the Legislature late week. The plan will provide $50 million for immediate needs such as virus monitoring and testing; $50 million for critical health care providers to expand capacity for coronavirus response and $50 million to keep in reserve for when necessary.

The plan will also make it easier to use Federal assistance related to
coronavirus.

Miller says we are trying times, and must act wisely and proactively. He says the Michigan Legislature has done that already and continues to do so by approving additional funding necessary to provide more rapid testing, appropriate treatment response and potentially save lives.
