DeKalb Central Schools Staff Member First COVID-19 Case in County

AUBURN, IN — According to an electronic communication sent to parents in the DeKalb Central Schools District, a staff member with the school district has been diagnosed with the COVID-19.

In the correspondence to parents, DeKalb Central Schools Superintendent Steve Teders said a staff member of the high school tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Teders told families the staff member "been self quarantined since last Tuesday”, (March 17). He said the staff member’s last day in the high school was last Monday on March 16.

Students were last in session at DeKalb Central Schools on Friday, March 13.

According to officials at DeKalb Central Schools, they were notified this morning about the high school staff member who tested positive for COVID-19. The individual received the positive COVID-19 results on Tuesday.
