First Death In LaGrange County From COVID-19 Reported

LaGrange County is announcing their first death from COVID-19.

According to Dr. Tony Pechin, the LaGrange County Health Officer, the
individual was a man over the age of 60, and passed away at the hospital on Sunday, where he had been receiving care. No further information will be released due to privacy laws.

In addition, the Indiana State Department of Health says there are now cases of coronavirus in LaGrange County. Steuben County has two more new cases since Sunday, bringing their total to 8. Noble County has 10 cases and Elkhart County has one new case, which makes 36 cases today. There were 536 new cases of COVID-19 reported across Indiana from Sunday to Monday, bringing the total number of cases to 4,944. There were also 12 more deaths, bring the total around the Hoosier State to 139.

State Department of Health officials want to remind citizens if you have
symptoms of COVID-19, you should self isolate for 14 days to avoid potentially exposing others. If you have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19, health officials say you should self quarantine for 14 days and monitor yourself for fever, cough and shortness of breath.
