Five More Deaths In NE Indiana From Coronavirus

Health officials say there were 5 more deaths and 24 new cases of coronavirus in Northeast Indiana Tuesday afternoon.

The 5 deaths were in Elkhart County, according to the Indiana State Department of Health. That means 51 residents have died from the virus. There were also 19 new cases of coronavirus reported, which makes 3,320 people have tested positive.

LaGrange County had 1 new case of COVID-19. 471 people have tested positive in the county and there have been 9 deaths. Noble County has 2 new cases. There are now 484 people with COVID-19, and 28 deaths. Steuben County has 1 new case, which makes 130 people who have tested positive for the virus, and there have been 2 deaths. DeKalb County has 1 new case of COVID-19. There are 163 people who have coronavirus and there have been 4 deaths.

Statewide in Indiana, 314 new cases of COVID-19 were detected. There are
now 48,626 individuals who have the virus. There were also 19 more deaths, which means 2,524 Hoosiers who have died from coronavirus.

The State Department of Health says 530,075 people have been tested for
coronavirus with 9.2 percent of the tests coming back as positive.
