Friday, July 10, 2020

The cause of death for the body found in Lake James back on June 25th has officially been ruled a drowning.

Rocky Rutledge, age 61 of Romeoville, Illinois was found dead at the first basin on Lake James. A report released from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Law Enforcement also indicates that other visitors to the area made several efforts to help save the man, including a nurse who was on the lake and attempted to perform emergency medical care.

A June 26th autopsy at St. Joe Hospital in Fort Wayne determined Rutledge died from conditions consistent with drowning. The report also indicated that there were no signs of any other medical conditions that would have caused his death.
