Indiana, the Top State in the Nation for Increasing the Number of Children Adopted from Foster Care

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb and the United States Administration of Children and Families announced Indiana is the top state in the nation for increasing the number of children adopted from foster care.

Governor Holcomb said. “With more than a thousand kids in Indiana who are still waiting to be adopted, increasing adoptions a priority”. Adoption on the Hoosier state is part of his Next Level Agenda.

In fiscal year 2019, 2,489 of Hoosier children were adopted through the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS).

Indiana is receiving $4.7 million in federal funding to enhance the state’s child welfare system.
