Fenn Road Bridge Is Open
By: Mike Stiles - Tuesday, September 22, 2020

The Fenn Road Bridge is back open for use.

Nick Schrippa with the Michigan Department of Transportation says the bridge which crosses I-69 in Branch County opened officially on Monday. Work started on the overpass in early April and was supposed to be finished by mid July, but was delayed.

The work is part of a $7.7 million project that MDOT is doing on I-69. This includes a 12 mile stretch of the highway between Otis and Girard Roads, along with the Fenn, State and Newton Road Bridges. Work being done on the bridges include full beam painting, concrete deck repairs and repaving along with approach work.

Schrippa says MDOT crews have started working on the Newton Road Bridge and should be finished October 30.

One lane of I-69 between State and Jonesville Roads will remain open in each direction during construction. Traffic on Newton Road is being detoured onto Fiske Road, Michigan Avenue and State Road.
