Two People Killed In DeKalb County Crash

ASHLEY – A two vehicle crash Monday morning claimed the lives of two people.

The Indiana State Police say that 20 year old Izah Webb of Griffith, Indiana was driving south on County Road 27 just before 7 AM. For an unknown reason, Webb's vehicle went left of center just south of County Road 6, crashing head on into a north bound vehicle.

The Ashley Fire Department was called to the scene to remove both drivers. Webb was removed and flown by Samaritan Helicopter to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The second driver, 61 year old Kevin Heath of Auburn, is believed to have died instantly in the crash from the severity of his injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both men were wearing their seat belts and their air bags did deploy. The crash is still under investigation. Also helping at the scene were the Waterloo Police Department, the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department and Parkview EMS.
