ELKHART COUNTY – A Howe man escaped injury in a three vehicle collision.

According to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office, a vehicle driven by 24 year old Dwight Markham of Elkhart and another driven by 24 year old Duane Mast of Howe, were driving south on State Road 13 nearing County Road 10.

A third automobile, driven by 55 year old Steve Thompson of Elkhart, was behind another vehicle that was stopped in traffic, attempting to turn east onto County Road 10. Both Markham and Mast were following too closely and Markham rear ended Thompson, and then Mast rear ended Markham.

Markham complained of head pain and Thompson of pain to the hip, back and elbow. Both were taken to Elkhart General Hospital. Mast was not injured in the incident.
