By: Mike Stiles - Tuesday, February 16, 2021

QUINCY – Quincy High School has a new Principal, and it's someone very familiar with the school district.

During Monday's meeting, the Quincy Board of Education approved the hiring of Amanda Webb to be the new Quincy High School Principal. Board member Brian Preston says he was part of the interview committee that searched for the next principal. He said there were several outstanding candidates but Amanda did a wonderful job and he is excited that she accepted this position.

Webb graduated from Quincy Schools and then from Western Michigan University. She has been a U.S. history and government teacher in the school district for the last five years. Webb says she is looking forward to serving in her new position. Webb thanked the Board for hiring her. She also thanked the High School staff who have supported her through this process.

Webb takes over for Joey Wright, who resigned in January after serving as the Quincy High School Principal for two and a half years. He accepted a job working for the Michigan Department of Corrections.
