Steuben Lakes Regional Waste District Highlights New Filtering System
By: Sheila McCrea - Wednesday, February 17, 2021

ANGOLA — The Steuben Lakes Regional Waste District recently completed a nine-month, $3.7 million-improvement project that will make filtering more efficient.

The project completion eliminates the two-acre polishing pond by switching to cloth filters. Officials say the change will make the filtering system more efficient and less susceptible to disruptions within their process, especially weather related issues.

In addition, the new system allows the District to have more control that the water leaving the plant is crystal clear and all impurities have been removed.
