Carra Announces Run For U.S. House Seat
By: Mike Stiles - Tuesday, April 6, 2021

THREE RIVERS – Steve Carra is setting his sights on the U.S. House of Representatives.

Carra, a Three Rivers Republican, who was elected in November 2020 to serve as the 59th District State Representative in the Michigan House of Representatives, announced Monday that is he is seeking the Republican nomination to become then next 6th District Representative in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The 6th District seat is currently held by Fred Upton, who said he will not seek re-election once this term is over. In a release issued on line, Carra says that after serving in Congress longer than he had been alive, it's very clear that Upton is a status quo, go along to get along politician. Carra says Upton doesn't deserve to be labeled as a moderate, because he is a pro-corporate America, not pro-free market individual. Carra says he is more experienced than the sitting Congressman when he first took office. He says if taxpayers want to vote for someone who will recklessly spend their money to line the pockets of special interest groups, they he is not their guy.

Carra says for those who instead want someone with a proven conservative track record of standing against politics as usual, then he is ready to represent them in Washington. Carra is officially kicking off his Congressional campaign at LA's Coffee Cafe in Three Rivers at 6 PM Tuesday.
