CONSTANTINE – More information has been released regarding a shooting incident Wednesday night at the Constantine Little League Fields.

Constantine Police Chief Mark Honeysett says his department was called to the Little League complex, located on Meadow Lane, just after 8 PM. The shooting happened at one of the fields on the east side of the property.

A 38 year old Cassopolis man was shot multiple times during the incident. He was conscious and alert when authorities arrived, and was treated by first responders. He was later flown to South Bend Memorial Hospital and underwent surgery. His name has not been released but he is listed in good condition. Police say they have some good leads in this case, which is still under investigation. Authorities says it appears that an argument broke out between a group of men who were watching a Constantine versus Cassopolis little league softball game.

Honeysett says a group of men, possibly involved in the shooting, have possible ties to a motorcycle club. There were Little League games still being played, with players and spectators at the field when the shooting happened. No children were injured in the incident. A second police scene was located at White Pigeon Road and Washington Street. Authorities says this was in relation to the shooting incident. The St. Joseph Crimes Major Crimes Task Force was called into action to assist
Constantine Police.

If anyone has information on this incident, they are asked to call the Constantine Police at 269-435-2085.
