Butler Woman Sends Car Airborne

A Butler woman sustained injuries after going airbound on Thursday morning.

Personnel from the Butler Fire Department located a vehicle around 7:20 am. The vehicle was on the north side of SR 8 in an embankment. The female driver of a 2013 Mazda CX5, Kjia Woodcox, age 31 of Butler IN was driving westbound in the 6300 block of SR 8 when the driver reportedly fell asleep and drove into a field on the north side of the road. The vehicle then went airborne as it traveled from the east side of the embankment to the west side of the embankment. The vehicle was considered a total loss after sustaining front end damage as it crashed into the embankment, which caused airbags to deploy. Woodson reported chest, stomach, and wrist pain as well as a minor hand laceration.

Assisting the Dekalb County Sheriffs on the scene were the Parkview DeKalb EMS, Butler Fire, Concord Fire, Southeast Fire, Parker Service.
