NORTHWEST TOWNSHIP, OH – One man died and three others were injured following a crash Saturday just east of the Indiana-Ohio state line on Saturday.

At a round 12:13 p.m., troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle injury crash at the intersection of U.S. 20 and County Road 4 in Williams County’s Northwest Township.

Investigators say Arden Pacey, age 89, of Bryan, Ohio was driving a 2007 Impala northbound on County Road 4 while a 16-year-old was driving a 2011 Silverado eastbound on U.S. 20. Authorities say Pacey did not yield the right of way at the posted stop sign, pulling into the path of the pickup truck, which resulted in the crash.

Pacey was reportedly flown to a hospital where he later died from his injuries. Helen Pacey, age 88, a passenger in the Impala, was taken to a hospital for serious injuries.

Reports indicate the teen driver and his passenger, Daniel Alexander, age 56 of Angola, were treated at the scene by Williams County EMS.

The incident remains under investigation; however, authorities noted alcohol use is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Everyone involved in the accident was wearing seat belts.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Williams County Sheriff’s Office, Northwest Township Fire Department, Williams County EMS, Samaritan Air Ambulance, Worthington Body Shop, and John’s Towing & Repair Service.
