ANGOLA, IN - The tablets that list many names of military men on the Steuben County Soldiers’ Monument received a bit of cleaning last week.

S&K Building Services, based out of Indianapolis, cleaned the tablets and the painted them. Once painted, they were polished and coated with a lacquer clear coat.

The tablets contain the names of the 1,280 men who served in the Civil War from Steuben County. Names that have stars denote those who died in the war between the states.
