Two Ohio Men Injured In Branch County Personal Watercraft Incident On Sunday

OVID TOWNSHIP, MI - Two people were injured on a watercraft just before noon on Sunday at an East Long Lake location in Branch County.

Branch County Sheriff Deputies responded to the single personal watercraft accident involving the driver, Gage Liames, a 20 year old from Cario, Ohio, and his passenger, Brenton Brock, a 20 year old from Lima, Ohio.

Upon arrival deputies learned that the two injured were jumping wakes made from other watercrafts. After loosing control of their watercraft, the pair were thrown in the air leaving them both unconscious in the water.

Other boaters in the area came to their rescue and got them to shore. Both subjects were treated on scene for head and neck injuries by Lakeland Fire and Life Care ambulance then transported to Promedica Hospital for treatment.

The accident remains under investigation by Branch County Sheriff’s Department Marine Patrol Division.

Branch County Sheriff Deputies were assisted at the scene by, Life Care Ambulance, and Lakeland Fire Departments.
