Who would like to be able to drive through Angola on U-S 20 with no barricades? Let the joyous news be spread the barricades have been removed on Angola's East Maumee, which means U-S 20 is now open through the monument city.
For several months, since mid-summer, the main drag through Angola has been stripped down to the dirt with crews working all summer and into the fall to get the road rebuilt. The work certainly threw both local drivers and those passing through of their routines.
Originally the work was expected to wrap up by the end of November; however, heavy rain in the late summer and this fall slowed progress for construction crews.
