Single Vehicle Crash Claims the Life of Auburn Man

An Auburn man has been named as the victim of a single car crash in Noble County.

Thursday evening at approximately 6:50 PM, officers from the Indiana State Police, the Noble County Sheriff's Department, the Albion Police Department, and the Kendallville Police Department responded to a single vehicle crash on Noble County County Road 415 North east of Noble County Road 1000 East.

A preliminary crash investigation by Master Trooper Marc Leatherman indicates that Andrew D Harp, age 30 of Auburn, was driving a 2015 Jeep westbound on County Road 415 North, near County Road 1000 East. For an undetermined reason, the Jeep left the roadway, striking a tree on the north side of the road. Harp, who was the only occupant of the Jeep, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Noble County Coroner.

Harp was not wearing a seat belt. Toxicology results are pending.

Weather is not believed to have been a factor at the time of the crash.

The Indiana State Police was assisted by the Noble County Sheriff's Department, the Albion Police Department, the Kendallville Police Department, the Avilla Police Department, and the Avilla Fire Department.

This is an ongoing investigation.
