DeKalb County Sends First Hyper-Reach Alert
Thursday, February 7, 2019

DeKalb County used its new Hyper-Reach mass notification system for the first time this week. The system sent alerts out to 2,000 plus Butler area residents about a boil-water advisory.

DeKalb County began inviting people to sign up for the system last week, and so far 764 cellphones have been registered. Cell Phones must be registered with Hyper-Reach to receive messages.

The messaging system can be used to advise people on floods, traffic detours, public health alerts, and missing or lost children or adults.
