DALEVILLE, IN - The Indiana Department of Transportation say that numerous potholes have plagued a 14-mile long stretch of I-69 south of Ft. Wayne.
Officials have reduced the speed limit to 45 mph from mile markers 220 to 234, which is the stretch from Daleville to Anderson just north of Indy. INDOT made the recommendation to lower the speed limit Thursday morning because of what has been described as "tire bursting potholes".
INDOT has already assigned work crews to repair the potholes. The repair plan includes closing the right lane in both the north and southbound lanes.
Motorists traveling in that area are asked to slow down. Drivers should also be prepared for traffic backups, lane closures, and work crews in the area.
