Two people are safe after jumping off the roof of their burning home just outside of in Angola Friday evening.
The Angola Fire Department was called out just before 5 p.m. to a home on the 4700 block of West U.S. 20, west of I-69 near the Tri-State Steuben Airport.
A report from the Angola Fire Department said two people inside were able to escape after passerbys helped them jump off the roof and catch them before fire crews arrived on the scene. Those individuals have been identified as Sarah Heath and Jarrell Brewer, who both suffered minor injuries. .
First fire crews at the blaze found heavy fire and smoke coming from the second floor of the home. Angola fire crews called for assistance from multiple other area departments.
It took crews about an hour to get the fire under control.
The home was owned by Beverly Tabernero and Elizabeth Love.
