Statewide Smoke Alarm Program Aims To Combat Home Fires
Wednesday, March 20, 2019

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security has put forth a program for Hoosiers with a goal of installing over 10,000 free smoke alarms in homes over the next two years. The “Get Alarmed” program is being lead by the Indiana Fire Marshall in partnership with members of the American Red Cross aiming to curve the increase in fatal home fires experience across the state this past calendar year.

The program will not be funded via tax dollars, but via a federal grant awarded to the Indiana State Fire Marshall.
