Dr. Melchor Mercado has accepted a psychiatrist position at Cameron Memorial Community Hospital. Mercado comes to Angola from Defiance Hospital in Defiance where he acted as the medical director at the Coping Center for more than 20 years.
Mercado is the only psychiatrist in the Cameron Hospital system and is the first to hold the position full time. Mercado will be seeing patients 18 years or older at his office located at 301 E. Maumee St. He will be supervising a mid-level provider in the upcoming months and currently has a licensed therapist on staff who will be doing both one-on-one and group sessions.
The Cameron psychiatry office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m..
