(HOWARD TOWNSHIP) – One person was killed in a fiery crash early Friday morning.
Michigan State Police says Cass County 911 received a call around 2 AM Friday of a vehicle that had left the roadway, struck a tree and was on fire on Pine Lake Street near Conrad Road in Howard Township.
Troopers arrived and found a vehicle on fire with the driver still inside. The fire was put out and the driver was removed and pronounced dead at the scene.
The body was taken to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids where an autopsy will be performed. Authorities have not released the identity of the victim, but did say the vehicle is a 1996 four door Chevy Blazer.
