(ANGOLA) - Funding for improvements to three county parking lots was approved on Tuesday by the Steuben County Council.
County Commissioners approved $130,000 for the work last week out of the Cumulative Capital Development Fund.
Community Center Building Manager Gary Fair said the work would start on August 26th with the employee lot south of the Annex. Work would then follow on half of the E.M.S. parking lot. The contractor will then work on the lot on South Street and then finish up the E.M.S. lot.
The money would also be spent on eight handicapped signs in front of parking spaces that would meet A.D.A. compliance.
It was originally hoped that a new parking lot could be built at Martha and Wall that there is not be enough money to cover the work.
In other business, Ruth Beer was named Council Vice-President. It was a position held by John Ingledue. A moment of silence was held in honor of Ingledue who passed away last month following a short illness.
