Two more men have been arrested by Pulaski and Kosciusko County officers in connection with an extensive crime spree that spans five Indiana counties and two Michigan counties.
Officers from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department arrested Tyson DeWayne Matthews, age 27 of Winamac, on preliminarly charges of felony forgery and felony theft.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested James Walton Matthews, age 46 of Medaryville, on a preliminary charge of felon auto theft.
The pair had been part of a large-scale theft ring that involved crimes committed in Kosciusko, Noble, Steuben, Starke, and Pulaski counties, along with two counties in Michigan.
Detectives indicated that additional arrest may be forthcoming and from other county agencies as the investigation continues. They have also advised that the Federal Bureau of Investigation has now become involved with the various cases and joint investigations.
The Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office advises that the defendant’s charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
