Bronson Man Arraigned On Charges Following Chase that Started in Angola

A Bronson man was arraigned on multiple charges after leading police on a high speed chase through two states.
Branch County District Court officials say 43 year old Scott Calloway was arraigned on three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and a charge of third degree fleeing from a police officer.
The chase started in Angola at 10 AM Sunday when police were checking on a suspicious vehicle at the Williams Street Apartments. Officers saw another vehicle running with two people inside. When police asked for identification, a woman got out of the car, but Calloway drove off.
Police pursued the vehicle north through Angola and then into Fremont, where more officers joined the chase. Calloway entered Michigan and even more police joined in the pursuit.
The chase lasted over 40 minutes and went into Hillsdale County and then Branch County were Calloway left the road and wrecked the car in a field on Southern Road.
Calloway is behind held on a $250,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for January 24.
The woman who got out of the car, 44 year old Diana Rodriguez, was arrested on fugitive warrants out of Elkhart County.
