(WATERLOO) - A 27-year-old man from Richardson, Texas was killed Wednesday morning in a crash on southbound I-69 about three miles south of the Ashley exit. The DeKalb County Sheriffs Department says the name of the man has not been released pending notification of family members. They say he went off the east side of I-69 at the 337 mile marker at about 2:50am.
The driver then over corrected and crossed back to the other side where it went off the interstate and struck a ditch embankment before the 2004 Pontiac Torrent overturned. The driver was ejected from the vehicle. The Sheriffs Department says he was not wearing a seat belt. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is still under investigation.
The Sheriff's Department got assistance from the Waterloo Police and Fire.
