(STURGIS) – There's still time for you to sign up for a class that can help if you have a family member that has memory loss or early stages of dementia.

The Area Agency On Aging will be holding a class for those who are taking care of someone with a memory loss problem. Melissa Cramton shares what the class is about. ...... {LISTEN}.

The class starts August 26 and will run from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Blue Skies Adult Day Care in Sturgis. There is no charge to take the class.

Many people who have family members with memory loss choose to have them stay home where they can be cared for. Cramton says caring for an individual in a familiar environment and keeping them active both physically and socially is better in the long run. ...... {LISTEN}.

The class will be led by Tami Smith, Executive Director of Blue Skies Adult Day Care. If you would like more information or to sign up for the class, you can call 1-888-615-8009.

Smith says to get your reservations as soon as possible. That way she can make sure there will be enough space for the class and there will be staff members if care is needed for someone with a memory loss problem.
