(CENTREVILLE) – Companies have been contracted with that will hopefully take care of humidity problems in the St. Joseph County Courthouse.

Over the last several months, the St. Joseph County Commissioners have been hearing about humidity issues in different areas of the court buildings. Several different remedies were tried, but none have been successful.

During their meeting on Tuesday, the County Commissioners were presented with a contract to hire C.L. Mahoney. Assistant County Administrator Elishia Arver explains what they will do. ...... {LISTEN}.

Arver shares what will happen after C.L. Mahoney is finished with their assessment. ...... {LISTEN}.

The Tower Pinkster proposal calls for a relative humidity sensor to be provided in the mixed air ductwork of the air handling unit. When the outdoor relative humidity rises above a certain setpoint, the condensing boiler and pumps will be enabled and stay operating until the humidity drops below a certain point.

The Commissioners approved both contracts by unanimous votes.
