Sturgis Businessman Ralph Levin Dies

(STURGIS) – A long time Sturgis businessman and community supporter has passed away.

Ralph Levin, 92, died Sunday at his home in Sturgis.

According to the McComb and Sons Funeral Home web site, Levin was born in Fort Wayne and later moved to Sturgis.

Levin founded Sturgis Iron and Metal and owned the business for 60 years before selling it in 2008. In addition to being a member of the B'Nai Jacob Synagogue, Levin was a long time member of the Sturgis Rotary Club and was also named the Sturgis Citizen of the Year.

In addition to spending time with his family, Levin was an avid automobile collector and was a quarter horse enthusiast.

Services will be held at 1 PM today at the Jewish Cemetery in Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to the ALS Foundation or the American Heart Association.
