By: Jim Measel

(WATERLOO) - The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim of a Wednesday morning traffic accident on I-69 south of Ashley as 27-year-old Ihtsham Waseem of Richardson, Texas. They say he went off the east side of the interstate at the 337 mile marker at about 2:50am.

Waseem then over corrected and crossed back to the other side where his 2004 Pontiac Torrent went off the interstate and struck a ditch embankment before overturning. Waseem was ejected from the vehicle. The Sheriffs Department says he was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is still under investigation.

The Sheriff's Department got assistance from the Waterloo Police and Waterloo firefighters.
