Free Fishing This Weekend in Michigan
Saturday Jun 09, 2018 7:23am
Lansing, MI

By: Mike Stiles

You can fish for free this weekend across Michigan.

State Senator John Proos wants to remind Michigan residents and out of state visitors that they can enjoy a free fishing weekend this Saturday and Sunday. Anglers can fish without a license on these two days. All fishing license fees will be waived, although all fishing regulations still apply.

Also over this weekend, the State will waive the regular Recreation Passport entry fee for vehicle access to Michigan's 103 State Parks and recreation areas.

In addition, Saturday and Sunday also marks one of the summer's free ORV weekends, a time off road enthusiasts can ride designated routes and trails without an ORV license or trail permit.

Proos says the annual Summer Free Fishing Weekend provides an outstanding opportunity for families to introduce the joy of fishing to children or to just get away from the stress of life and relax in the Michigan outdoors.
