A training grant has been given to an area fire department.
The Michigan Firefighters Training Council gave an $1,800 regional training grant to the Bronson Fire Department. It's the second training grant that the department has received this year. This one was awarded by the Michigan Occupational Safety And Health Administration.
Fire Department officials say they will use the grant for two emotional health and wellness classes where spouses and significant others will accompany first responders to the class. This will be for all emergency medical service providers, law enforcement and 911 dispatchers in Branch County.
Any firefighter in the State Of Michigan will also be able to attend.
