A motorcycle driver has a fractured collarbone following a Sunday afternoon crash.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, Clarence Thorne, age 68 of Butler, was driving his pick-up truck northbound in the 3400 block of SR 1. Thorne told authorities that he slowed down to turn left into his residence.
While turning left, a Harley Davidson Motorcycle driven by J. David Coleman, age 50 of Antwerp, OH was cresting the hill. Reports indicate that Thorne attempted to stop his truck when he saw the Coleman, but started to slide into the front side of the the Harley, making contact.
Damage to both the truck and motorcycle are estimated at $3,000 each. Coleman was treated for a broken collarbone.
The DeKalb Co. Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Indiana state Police, Butler Fire Department, and DeKalb County EMS.
