Mayor Dick Hickman has announced that he will be running for a 5th term in office as Mayor of the city of Angola. Hickman has been in office since 2001 after the passing of previous Mayor Bill Selman. He says he is officially putting his name in to be on the 2019 ballot.
Hickman had reportedly been deciding on whether or not to seek a 5th full term in office, however he said he still enjoys working with all of the talented city employees and facing the challenges that city government presents. He says that together, they have seen many "great changes" to the city in their 17 years together.
If elected, Hickman will be the longest-serving tenure as mayor in Angola history.
